NOMEANSNO was a Canadian punk rock band formed in Victoria, British Columbia and later relocated to Vancouver. They issued ten LPs, one collaborative LP, numerous EPs and singles, and gained an international audience following extensive touring. Critic Martin Popoff described their music as "the mightiest merger between the hateful aggression of punk and the discipline of heavy metal." Nomeansno's distinct hardcore punk sound, complex instrumentation, and dark, "savagely intelligent" lyrics inspired subsequent musicians. They are often considered foundational in the punk jazz and post-hardcore movements, and have been cited as a formative influence on the math rock and emo genres.

JUCIFER Jucifer are a two piece American sludge metal band, whose members are Gazelle Amber Valentine on lead guitar and vocals, and her husband Edgar Livengood on drums. The band is notable for the extreme volume at which they perform, and the gigantic wall of amplification used for Valentine's guitar, as well as the dichotomy that has existed between much of the recorded material and their live shows. They are also notable for incessant touring beginning in the mid-90's. In 2000 Jucifer moved into an RV and became completely "nomadic in nature", preferring to tour constantly, living in their tour vehicle, rather than following the normal practice of album release/tour/time at home.

NO WTO COMBO The No WTO Combo was a one-shot punk rock band started by Krist Novoselic (former Nirvana bassist). The band consisted of Jello Biafra (former frontman of Dead Kennedys); guitarist Kim Thayil of Soundgarden; and the rhythm section of Sweet 75, with Gina Mainwal on drums and Novoselic on bass. The performance that became their only release would be the first formal concert played by Thayil since the demise of Soundgarden a few years beforehand, and only the second time Biafra had played music in a planned live setting since Dead Kennedys split in 1986.

MUMIA ABU-JAMAL is an American activist and journalist and was a member of the Black Panther Party until October 1970. He left the party and became a radio reporter, eventually becoming president of the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists. Despite evidence pointing to his innocence, he was convicted and sentenced to death in 1982 for the murder of Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner. After numerous appeals, his sentence was commuted in 2011 to life imprisonment without parole. During his imprisonment Abu-Jamal has published books and commentaries on social and political issues.

They are notable for their heavy use of the Echoplex, used primarily on vocals but on other instruments as well. She emerged as a prominent counterculture activist and radical in the 1960s as a leader of the Communist Party USA, and had close relations with the Black Panther Party through her involvement in the Civil Rights Movement. She was a professor (now retired) at the University of California, Santa Cruz, in its History of Consciousness Department and a former director of the university's Feminist Studies department. She co-founded Critical Resistance, an organization working to abolish the prison-industrial complex.

Their first demo (1994) was produced by Jason Newsted of Metallica. Playing the violin and cello through a variety of guitar effects, their sound is sometimes fast and furious, other times hip and hummable, always distinct and accessible.

DOG FACED HERMANS were a four-piece post-punk band that formed in Scotland in the mid 1980s and remained active through the mid 1990s. They emerged from the UK anarcho-punk scene with a guitar/bass/drums line-up, but also incorporated trumpet and other instruments not commonly found in punk music at that time. Their composition style incorporated many genres of music outside of rock, including folk, jazz, ambient and noise music with often unorthodox instrumentation.

DOT WIGGIN BAND is a musical group led by Dot Wiggin of the 1960s outsider music girl group, The Shaggs. In 2012, bassist Jesse Krakow organized a tribute to the Shaggs, in which he invited Dot, Betty and Rachel Wiggin of the Shaggs to be honored guests. At the Q&A portion of the evening, Dot was asked if she still wrote songs, to which she replied yes. Jesse raised his hand and asked if he could help her record them. The Dot Wiggin Band quickly formed, and recorded their first album in winter of 2012, and began performing live in 2013.

DRUNK INJUNS The Drunk Injuns is a skate punk band formed in 1983. The band members wear masks that resemble Indian ghost warriors. They claim to believe the masks allow them to channel the spirit world to gain control of their bodies and play better music. Vocalist/producer Mörizen Föche originally created and directed Thrasher Magazine's Skate Rock compilation series, and is credited with coining the term "Skate Rock".

THE EAT Formed in 1978, The Eat's sound was reminiscent of Fifties rock and roll dipped in an amphetamine bath. The O'Brien brothers' driving guitars flanked an incredibly tight and powerful rhythm section. They inspired generations of South Florida hardcore and punk bands that came after them.

FACEPULLER arrived on the punk rock, noisecore scene in March '91 out of Vancouver. They were know to straddles the punk/metal/noise-core fence and would often showcase their powerful ability to mix controlled noise with abrasive guitar strangulation.

The Fartz

THE FARTZ were originally formed in 1981 and were one of the first well-known hardcore bands from Seattle, Washington. They were notable for their politically and socially conscious song lyrics that criticized government policies, religious hypocrisy, racism, sexism, and poverty. Also known as Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan's original band (he was the drummer), and also home to future Accused frontman Blaine Cook.

ROBERT FISK is an English writer and journalist. He has been Middle East correspondent intermittently since 1976 for various media; since 1989 he has been correspondent for The Independent, primarily based in Beirut. Fisk holds numerous British and international journalism awards, including the Press Awards Foreign Reporter of the Year seven times. He has published a number of books and reported on several wars and armed conflicts. An Arabic speaker, he is one of a few Western journalists to have interviewed Osama bin Laden, which he did on three occasions between 1993 and 1997.

FRANTIX are a punk rock hardcore band, whose unique sound and chaotic live show transfixed the early 1980s Colorado punk scene. They later evolved into the equally legendary grunge band The Fluid, who were one of Sub Pop's first non-Seattle bands back in 1988. Though most people mistakenly believe that Mudhoneys well-known cover of "My Dads A Fuckin Alcoholic" is a Mudhoney song, it's actually a FRANTIX original!

THE FREAK ACCIDENT started in 2002 by Ralph Spight after the break up of Victims Family, a stylistic rollercoaster ride through punk, pop, latin surf, blues, piano ballads and more. Members went on to join the Hansen Brothers and Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine.

They were active from 1986–1995, briefly reunited in the early 2000s and most recently in the summer of 2010 to coincide with the Amphetamine Reptile Records' 25th Anniversary concert. After the disbandment in 1995, vocalist Mike Hard went on to form Thrall.

GROTUS was an experimental, politically charged rock band from San Francisco, active from 1989 to 1996. Their unique sound incorporated industrial rock, sampled ethnic instruments, two drummers, two bassists, and angry but humorous lyrics. Their shows included large projected videos sequenced with the songs, and could almost qualify as performance art, with the singer channeling any number of hideous figures involved in the subjects of the songs.

HALF JAPANESE is an art punk band formed by brothers Jad and David Fair around 1975, sometime after the family's relocation to Uniontown, Maryland. Their original instrumentation included a small drum set, which they took turns playing; vocals; and an out-of-tune, distorted guitar. Both Fair brothers sang, although over time Jad moved into the frontman role.

HELLWORMS a collaboration between guitarist/vocalist Ralph Spight and bassist Larry Boothroyd, the Hellworms follow in the footsteps of Bay Area hardcore band Victim's Family (1984-94) and Saturn's Flea Collar (1996-97), this group is rounded out by drummer Joaquin Spengemann (Walrus). Supposedly they choose their name because both Jello Biafra and their parents disliked it.

HISSANOL were a two-piece experimental indie rock band based in both Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Victoria, British Columbia, Canada active between 1994 and 1998. The band was a studio-only project from former NoMeansNo guitarist Andy Kerr and Scott Henderson of Shovlhed, Swell Prod., the Showbusiness Giants, and other groups. Each member played a number of instruments and sang.

I OBJECT A 4 piece DIY vegan straight edge band hailing from Syracuse and Buffalo, New York. They play an intelligent brand of hardcore which is angry and wild yet still melodic. The lyrics are predominantly political but also involve some family issues and women’s issues.

THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY (abbreviated T(I)NC) were a Swedish garage rock band formed in Sweden in the late months of 1998. The (I)nc takes pride in blending the roots of at least five bands, including Refused, Totalt Jävla Mörker, Separation, Saidiwas, and Doughnuts. Influenced by a quote from 1960's folk singer Phil Ochs, according to lead singer Dennis Lyxzén, the band wanted to achieve an ideal blend of music and politics that was, "a cross between Elvis Presley and Che Guevara."

IOWASKA is a U.K. band that created their own unique blend of space-rock, punk, and cosmic thrash that started in 1994. EVAN JOHNS (July 12, 1956 – March 11, 2017) was an American guitarist specializing in a variety of music, including rockabilly. Johns founded his own band, called "the H-Bombs", and though in later years his health begin to decline and prevent him from performing live, he would write and record music throughout his life.

LES THUGS are a punk band from France formed in 1983. Influenced by the English punk wave that had swept through France. Without knowing how to play any instruments, the band adopted a "Do it yourself" style towards the musical movement. The band's name refers to the historical brotherhood of the Thuggee, a following of the goddess Kali and not directly to the related English loan word thug.
