The Ecstacy of The Agony contains 30 tracks maxing out the CD length at around 78 minutes from 2000’s roster of Alternative Tentacles artists. Artwork is by Winston Smith!! It is a great cross-section of the eclectic recordings found on Alternative Tentacles, from hardcore, demented pop, political spoken word, new wave, country, punk, and simply put: rock.
Aside from containing new songs from artists having been on the label for quite some time such as Nomeansno, Half Japanese, Wesley Willis, the Ecstacy of The Agony shows off some of the newer bands from the AT stable such as: The Causey Way, Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, The No WTO Combo, & SNFU.
