Alternative Tentacles Batcast Demo Derby
Alternative Tentacles Batcast is hosting a Demo Derby!
As you may know Alternative Tentacles accepts physical demos only, and those go direct to Jello Biafra for his review, but for an upcoming episode of the batcast we are inviting bands who are submitting demos to send to the bATcast to play and review on the show. This isn’t about bashing the bands or embarrassing anyone, and we are not going to harshly “judge” your band. We will provide some constructive feedback of what we think of your submission in connection to Alternative Tentacles, and then we will forward all the demos we get to Jello for his review, and we’ll include our notes. We play your song on the show for our audience, plug your band, and we send it through to Jello as usual.
You don’t have to do this, you can still send your physical demo directly by following the directions on our site (find those here), and we won't touch those... they will go directly to Jello Biafra as always. However, if you want to try this out here’s what you do.
-Email batcast@alternativetentacles.com
-Tell us who you are, where you are from, and anything you think we should know about your band.
-Include a link a downloadable version of your demo, remember in order for us to give it to Jello it has to be a physical demo, not digital… we have to burn him a CD for you.
-Pick one song off your demo for us to play on the Podcast. Just one… don’t make us pick.
That's it. If we get enough of them we'll do an episode. We will go in order of what we get. If we get more than one episodes worth, we'll do another one. Let's see how this goes!
Ultimately the decision to pick up any bands is still Jello’s. It’s fully his call, but we will tell him what we think, especially if it may help. Also remember we don’t sign a lot of bands… money is tight, but we do want to hear from you all and if playing you on the podcast will help get you out there. We are all for it.
