Kultur Shock was started by singer Gino Srdjan Yevdjevich in Seattle, WA in 1996, he would go on to become the beating heart of one of the most consequential genre-bending bands of the last couple of decades, but also the de-facto grandfather of a movement that people today casually refer to as gipsy punk! Since then, Kultur Shock has embarked on a never ending path of experimentation, mixing Balkan folk melodies and bizarre meters with face melting metal and blood pumping punk rock, being lyrical, obnoxious, political, irreverent, all the while respecting every influence they’ve had to make the Bosnian sevdah more sevdah, the rock more rock, and gipsy-punk-metal what it currently is... a culture shock.
To describe Kultur Shock’s style and sound, people usually refer to Gogol Bordello, System of a Down, Dubioza Kolektiv, Manu Chao, The Pogues or Band of Four but none of that does the band a justice, because Kultur Shock’s sound and approach to music is literally in a league of their own.
House of Shock is the second part of the double album series that begun earlier this year with House of Kultur! Going beyond the blender of styles the band has made their legacy, and pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the band, bringing in additional musicians to help them accomplish the vision.

"Mora is a story about injustice. Misfortune of the small and poor on this planet exposed to the evils of war, does not end with the war. Them who survived physical extermination will be taken over by PTSD. We were taught lies; them who suffer now in this world do not get rewarded later. And they did not do anything to deserve the wrath of seven deadly sins being struck upon them, they were just born there."
The mood shifts completely with Kultur Shock embracing their irreverent electronic side with "I Rock The Fez"!
As opposed "Mladost" a hard rock lament to the demands of war on the young.

House of Shock is the latest chapter from a band that is more than a high-voltage blend of multi-ethnic music, attitude, and raw stage presence. It’s an open, ever evolving platform that continually breaks through creative limits and happily sheds the weight of legacy. The album is streaming everywhere you listen to music.
