Nomeansno "Oh Canaduh" 7"

In 1991, Canadian noise architects Nomeansno paid tribute to two of the bands that helped make it all possible with Oh, Canaduh, a two-song blast of punk history that’s finally getting another spin on Alternative Tentacles Records! Originally released as the tenth release on artist (and Alternative Tentacles art director) John Yates’ legendary Allied Recordings, the 7” became the label’s best-selling single of all time. Now, this long-unavailable slice of Canadian punk history returns, remastered and sounding better than ever, according to Nomeansno’s John Wright and Andy Kerr, as well as Jello Biafra himself. The reissue also features brand-new artwork by John Yates, incorporating nods to the legendary bands that inspired the original release.

The A-side takes on Oh, Canaduh, the unofficial punk anthem originally released by Vancouver’s Subhumans in 1978. Flip the record and you’ll find their take on D.O.A.’s “New Age,” a song from the Vancouver hardcore legends’ landmark debut album in 1980.

The Crucifucks "The Crucifucks" LP

“The most controversial album by the most controversial band in our controversial label’s history!”
- Jello Biafra

They wrote the book on offensiveness, and they remain one of the most controversial punk bands to this day! Formed in Lansing, MI in 1982, formed around lyricist and mouthpiece, the inimitable Doc Corbin Dart, whose anti-establishment politics and bent for provocative, deliberately offensive lyrical posturing made the Crucifucks something of an America analogue to England’s legendary Crass. The Crucifucks also possessed an absurdist streak that linked them to the acerbic humor of Jello Biafra and the surreal social satire of Pere Ubu.

This self-titled 1985 Alternative Tentacles Records debut, included tracks like "Hinckley Had a Vision" and "Cops for Fertilizer."

In the years since its original release The Crucifucks has built a dedicated cult following, though in a 2007 interview, Doc Dart would disown the album, calling it "an abomination"! We call it a classic! Our distributor calls it Virus 38!

Alternative Tentacle Records is proud to bring this classic abomination back in print!

*PRE-ORDER NOW! Official release date of March 19, 2027 for the long awaited repress!*

Jello Biafra And The Melvins "Never Breath What You Can't See" LP

The story began when the Melvins approached Jello with a proposal born of disgust at the shameless Dead Kennedys cash-in reunion tour. Their counteroffer? A tag-team assault on the American Way of Life, with the Melvins backing Jello on a tour of Dead Kennedys material. Jello had a better idea: rather than exhume the past, why not write something new? And just like that, a whole new beast crawled out of the primordial punk-rock swamp.

The result is Never Breathe What You Can’t See, an album that brings together the distinctive strengths of both camps without sounding like a retread of either. Sound-wise it's half way between Lard and Dead Kennedys and a fresh reminder that neither age nor experience has done a damn thing to tame Jello Biafra and the Melvins.

*PRE-ORDER NOW! Official release day for the latest repress is January 22, 2027*
