WINSTON SMITH'S BAT SHOW 2025 - SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN!
Winston Smith’s Studio Fallout partners for the third year with beloved record label, Alternative Tentacles, to present The Bat Show 2025, featuring a retrospective of the Winston Smith original “bat” icon plus new artist interpretations.
The past two shows have been phenomenal with every bat being top-notch. So we’re super excited about the next one.
We are calling for our artist friends to submit their own version of the bat to be on display for the exhibition - and that means YOU, punk! 🫵

There are very few restrictions; we are open to any interpretation and any medium, as long as it is inspired by the original logo. We just ask that it be no bigger than 12”x12”. If you have a vision for your piece that is larger than 12”x12” please let us know and we’ll make a plan.
This is a pop-up and we will be selling right off the walls. Please let us know if you’d like us to hang on to your piece after December 13th. Our shop is open Thursdays - Sundays, so we can rotate your bat in for viewing and selling if you’d like. It will be packaged up and stored safely when not on display.
DEADLINES
This year we plan to have the show catalog (or “Batalog”) printed in time for the exhibition. So, the deadlines have been bumped up a little earlier for this one. If you think you’d like to submit a bat, please let us know as soon as you can so we can get an idea of how many artists to prepare for. Everything can be emailed to info@studiofallout.com by the following deadlines.

Friday, September 12 - Size, medium, format, price

Friday, October 31st - Hi-Res file of your piece submitted for the Batalog

Saturday, November 8th - Your bio (150 words or less), profile pic for social media, Instagram handle and samples of your other work
FORMAT OPTIONS
Here are our preferred format options:

Framed or on a panel ready to hang

Unframed but a standard format. If you plan to submit your work unframed, please shoot for a standard frame size. 12x12 is ideal! But 8”x10” or 8 ½” x 11” work too.

Digital - if you plan to make something digitally, you can email, WeTransfer or Google us and we’ll print it out and frame it. Please let me know if there’s a best size and paper selection. We’ll just need a little extra lead time to print and frame - so please let us know by November 8th if this is your plan.
