Alternative Tentacles Records is proud to help celebrate 30 years of Kultur Shock with the releasee of their long anticipated album, House of Kultur

House of Kultur embodies the well- known sound of the band, and includes seven songs bouncing wildly between serious, political, sarcastic, social commentary, fun and funny, while seamlessly integrating elements of Balkan folk music, punk and metal, which are the band’s unmistakable trademark.

House of Kultur’s opening track "Bosna In Time" is practically the sequel of band’s hit "Tamni Vilajet", followed up by the jokingly contemplative "Tomorrow Is Better Day". "Snijeg" is a traditional Bosnian love without borders song in a completely contemporary music form that has become a Balkan LGBTQ anthem as well as a staple of the band’s live show. "Nostalgia" is Kultur Shock’s testament for refusing to become a legacy band after decades of prolific artistic life, while joyfully exploiting hard rock and New Wave of British heavy metal approach, which makes it even wilder, especially in the context of the follow up track- "Get Off My Lawn", which is a counter/endorsement of the whole “OK, boomer!” thing. "Illuzie" is an anthemic sing along song with many cultural cross-references related to the ex-YU ethos, underlining that not everything is what it looks like at first glance, delivered as a double meaning game of words. The record closes with the very personal and intense "What I Saw", which infers to vocalist, Gino Yevdjevich’s war experiences and post-war PTSD triggered by the state of the contemporary world.

Recorded through 2024 and 2025 in Seattle and New York City, mixed and mastered by Oggi Kiossovski in Sofia, Bulgaria, and with visual and art concepts by Tico Ticulin and Majda Turkic in Croatia and Bosna i Herzegovina, the record is a testament for the power of true cross-distance and cross-cultural artistic collaboration, in direct defiance of the nativist tendencies which are plaguing our daily lives.

Kultur Shock  is not just a high-voltage blend of multi-ethnic music, attitude, and raw stage presence. It’s an incredible ongoing Project - an open, ever-evolving platform that breaks through creative limits and sheds the weight of legacy. We are all just lucky to bear witness.

The Digital version of House of Kultur is  already streaming on all platforms. The LP is now available for pre-order and will ship Mid-April 2026.
