See, I told you we listen! When we started doing our Re-issues Of Necessity series people started contacting us with suggestions; well this is one of the suggestions!! Classic early punk from Las Vegas' best! 37 tracks in all - includes Murder In A Foreign Place & Last Rites releases.
Around 1983 M.I.A. relocated to Orange County and held their own with all the classic bands of the day, onstage and in the studio.Up north Maximum Rock'n'Roll had adopted them too, bending their own rules to make M.I.A. the only non-Bay Area band on the landmark Not So Quiet On The Western Front compilation.
A normally reserved Jello Biafra offered them this labels services as soon as they walked off stage when he saw them in Las Vegas. The Murder In A Foreign Place ep was the result. It's all here; their side of the Last Rites album (originally split with another band they didn't even know would be on the record). Lost Boysalso includes early demos, lost live tracks and some excellent studio demos that pre-dated their later work.
The LP and CD contain 80 minutes of soaring melodic punk and hardcore with plenty of power and variety. One of the all-time greats at the peak of their powers.
First 1000 LPs come in orange vinyl.
Also includes : early demos, lost live tracks and some excellent studio demos that pre-dated their later work. Almost 80 minutes of soaring melodic punk and hardcore with plenty of power and variety. One of the all-time greats at the peak of their powers.
P.S.- This is NOT the Sri Lanka/London dance/world music/radical artist/singer M.I.A.. Although our MIA was a band 20+ years before the new M.I.A. even exhibited her first paintings, we think she rocks- just in a REALLY different style of music!
