Artists To Watch In 2026: God Bullies
The very name strikes fear into the hearts of penitent types everywhere. God Bullies. Hailing from Kalamazoo, Michigan, home of the state’s largest mental facility and some particularly noxious ground water contamination (both coincidences, we are assured). God Bullies. Midwestern weirdness from the region that invented the name.
Formed in 1986, fronted by the uh, “charismatic” singer/psychopath Mike Hard (also known for his band, Thrall), established themselves as one of the most popular live bands on the club circuit, especially in their native Midwest, where faith in a higher power seems to ebb and flow with their coming and going. They would reign supreme until 1995, when they disbanded. Returning briefly in 2010 for the "War On Peace" tour, they went dormant until Mike Hard brought the band back with a new line-up featuring members of Thrall in 2024, and has remained active ever since!
A.T. Alumni, God Bullies recently released a new album, As Above So Below on Amphetamine Reptile, but you can pick up their Alternative Tentacles release Kill The King now!
